Mighty Quinn's has been giving New Yorkers a special dose of BBQ for a while now and finaly have branched up into the Upper East Side. Keeping with their already sucessful model, this 7th location focuses on what they do best: ribs, brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausages and more meaty goodness. The menu and format is the same as the other locations, but already it's having queues around the block as once again, they don't take reservation.
The formula is pretty simple: borrowing techniques from the Carolinas and Texas, they smoke meat with the basic ingredients of salt, pepper, wood and plenty of time. Pit Master and Texas native Hugh Mangum grew up exploring the multifacited flavours of BBQ and brought his unique take to New York in 2009 to be served in a relaxed space where the piled high plates are the main focus. Chef Mangum spent some serious time perfecting his craft, he graduated from the French Culinary Institute and even went on to win an episode of the Food Network's Chopped.
