Frankel's Delicatessen and Appetizing is a Jewish deli in Greenpoint. Opened by a pair of brothers, Zach and Alex Frankel, who were raised in the Upper West Side, this is an homage to all the things they grew up with - bagles, smoked salmon, and the like - but struggled to find after their relocation to Brooklyn. Taking inspiation from classic spots like Russ & Daughters, Murray’s and Barney Greengrass, this is very much a family run affair, with the brothers behind the counter most days, photos of relitives on the walls, and even their grand-mothers recipe for brisket.
This white tiled deli has a kitchen run by Ashley Berman, who will be preparing choped chicken liver, matzo ball soup, and grandma's brisket, so you can either eat in and watch the hustle and bustle or load up on all your favourites to take home.
