When you want to go to the beach but just can't get out of the city, The Beach should be your obvious stop. Housed in the Dream Downtown hotel, this 4,800 square foot play-space has all the best bits of a holiday minus the travel times. The rooftop glass-bottom pool is lined with over 50 chaise lounge chairs, plus has a sandy beach perfect for sitting back, drinking tropical drinks and pretending you're on an island somewhere.
Mexican hotspot Bodega Negra is housed on the ground floor and logically some of the food found in their poolside cafe looks familiar in the best way possible. Executive Chef Michael Armstrong put together a menu filled with treats like chicken wings al pastor with grilled pineapple, and a jalapeno crema dipping sauce or if you want something more substantial to be sure to eye up their soft shell crab served with chipotle slaw and guacamole on a toasted potato bun.
Normally reserved for hotel guests, they now offer day passes for $60 so you can sit in a private cabana, under the bamboo leaf covered bar adjacent to the pool, or sink your feet in the sand between dips in the pool.
Catching sun, while soaking in the pool, and sinking your feet in real sand.
