Tuscany's Best Restaurants

Cristina Finizio, Guest Relations Manager, of Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco shares with U her favourite places to dine across Tuscany...

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco

Soak up the understated, warm atmosphere of Ristorante Campo del Drago and admire Montalcino and the view over UNESCO-protected Val d’Orcia at sunset. During the summer, U can enjoy dinner whilst admiring a breath-taking full, red moon. The best pick on the menu is the roasted guinea fowl with black truffle “Pioppini” mushrooms and parsnip.

Drogheria Franci, Montalcino

The restaurant is located in front of the historical castle of Montalcino, and the highlight here is the incredibly vast selection of Italian wines (hand-picked by the owner) paired with Tuscan dishes that are enriched by special spices and a selection of organic, seasonal ingredients. U can sit at the Well Table located in a private room surrounded the wine selection, with the grilled octopus with chickpea cream & rosemary coming highly recommended.

Il Silene di Roberto Rossi, Mount Amiata

This one-Michelin-star venue has been in situ since 1830, with Roberto Rossi as sole chef and owner since 1992. The restaurant also produces a rare, de-stoned extra-virgin olive oil and owns a nearby 16-hectare artistic park. Don't miss the cooking class with the chef who guides guests through authentic Tuscan culinary styles and flavours; there's also a fantastic Chef’s Table available for booking, the best way to enjoy the cuisine. The tortelli with ricotta cheese & spinach stuffed with truffle are a definite highlight.

La Pineta di Gianfranco Zazzeri, Marina Di Bibbona (Livorno)

U can’t go wrong with any of the fish dishes here, all pay homage to traditional Tuscan recipes. It's another one-Michelin-star restaurant, situated in a rustic and unassuming location – once a fisherman’s shack – and is wonderfully juxtaposed by exquisite quality, fresh and seasonal sea food. Make sure U request a spot overlooking the sea.

Cristina has a deep knowledge of Tuscany but most of all, she’s in love with this region and its lifestyle. She knows all the secret gems, the best places to eat, shop and the most picturesque corners of this unique place. Situated within the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia Natural Park, in the Brunello di Montalcino wine-making region, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is a 5,000- acre country estate founded by Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo. The Italian resort is a celebration of the natural beauty and rich gastronomic heritage of Tuscany. The 800-year-old estate comprises the ancient castle ruins, a medieval church and the Borgo, a historic village that now forms the heart of the resort.
