Set amongst 66 acres of meadows, woodland and oak lined streams near Launceston in Cornwall, Coombeshead Farm features a 6-bedroom (rustic style) farmhouse, an open-fire communal living room, whisky room & library, as well as a wine cellar, dining room and open kitchen.
Bookings are inclusive of dinner and breakfast, from £160 per person, and the farm is also available for exclusive bookings, where groups are served a bespoke menu and provided with an insight into the produce, farm and the producers of the area. Dinner are served in the 12-cover farmhouse dining room, on a large communal table, with menus ever-changing and evolving according to what is in season, and based entirely on what is being produced at the time.
The menu, which is a collaboration of both Tom and April’s experience and styles, is comprised of a selection of small and large sharing dishes, such as, Whole Pit Baked Mangalitza Ham & Creamed Kraut; Rabbit, Cobnut, & Nettle Sausage; Grilled Onions & Cods Roe; House Curds, Peas, Mint & Sorrel, and desserts such as Blackcurrant Leaf Junket.
A curriculum of workshops start in the autumn, all based on the techniques and skills used daily in the farmhouse kitchen. Expect lessons in methods such as butchery, sausage making, curing, pickling, preserving, and bread making.
