The Luggage Room, secluded at the side of the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, is now offering a top class Low Tea menu of traditional English favourites. The bar itself is decked out like a Roaring Twenties speakeasy; you must knock to enter and the staff check you through the peephole before entering before you're taken into the meticulously decorated lower level dining area.
The food comes served in a miniature travelling trunk, full of delights such as a Devonshire wild boar sausage roll, a Clarence Court Scotch egg, rum syllabub, and a signature jam jar scone trifle. To follow on from the tea, there are a range of heritage cocktails including Punch a la Romaine (Champagne poured over sorbet) and Bees Knees' (Glendalough seasonal gin, fresh lemon juice, rich honey, honeycomb).
The Low Tea starts at £48 and runs afternoons until 3.30pm.
Indulgent afternoons
The staff offer a guide through all the tea varieties prior to ordering, where you can take in the aromas of each item on the tea menu and learn about what you're drinking.
