Inside the super cool, boutique LES arthouse cinema which opened early 2016, Commissary is far more than just a concessions stand where you can get popcorn, candy and soda. Welcome to the new age, ladies and gentleman: this is a full-blown restaurant in its own right. Inspired by the big Hollywood studios of days gone by, this flexible space has everything you would want to start a night off right or close it down in style.
The evening menus are filled with classics like steak tartare, brown butter trout, and Fluke Crudo, served from 6pm-12am with a special late night menu served till 2 am. Their brunch menu is equally enticing with an eggtastic section including their signature scrambled eggs with mascarpone and wild mushrooms and steak & eggs with chimichurri, plus a whole list of stapled like their sardine sandwich and avocado toast with green tomato salsa verde.
The space itself is airy and flexible with the Commissary serving the lobby filled with chesterfields, a sleek dining room, and a full bar filled with delicious cocktails serving until 2 am.
