Café Medi is the latest restaurant from restaurateurs Corey Lane and Roberto Buchelli inside the Hotel on Rivington. The space is much like a multilayered jewel box, with a low-ceilinged dining room in front with woven light fixtures and roll back doors, but if you keep going it opens up into a light filled space with high skylights, white and blue tiled murals, light tan leather and plants creating an oasis.
Embodying the light and airy feeling of the Mediterranean, Chef Vincent Chirico, who previously spent time at Jean-Georges, Daniel, and Aquavit plus is the chef-owner at UWS's Vai, hs created a menu perfect for eating well. Divided into a section of Sea, Land, Garden and Crudo, find dishes like organic baby shiitake mushroom with white polenta and soft egg, roasted rabbit with romesco sauce, chanterelle mushrooms, and fino sherry, and a whole Crudo section.
On the drinks front, Allen Katz from New York Distilling Company has put together an all natural cocktail list with all ingredients squeezed, juiced, infused, and more in-house.
