While most of the city is obsessed with burgers, this sandwich shop went in a slightly different direction focusing on the piles of meat on bread loved in Chicago. Similar to a French Dip, this massive number starts with a hoagie roll which is then stuffed with mountains of thinly sliced Italian beef and topped off with cheese, pickled veggies, giardiniera and probably hot peppers for good measure. Then, if that's not enough, they dip the whole thing in drippings jus to amp up the flavour that extra bit.
This is obviously a messy and very delicious experience - hence the name of the joint - but it's the type of thing that will leave you licking your fingers in glee while working through a massive stack of napkins. Not wanting to leave anyone out - they've got a concise menu of other delicious plates including sausages, "power bowls," and even a vegetarian option of an Eggplant parm.
They're also slinging homemade Italian Ice to finish you off with something sweet plus beers and wine is only $5.
