Room With A View

The biggest suite on earth is open to all for limited time and allows for panoramic views of the the Swiss Alps...

This new minimalist venture is situated at 6,463 feet above sea level in the mountains of Graubünden, where U'll find amazing views—and a one-of-a-kind (open-air) hotel experience.

The Swiss Alps room has no walls, roof or bathroom (however there is a public restroom 10 minutes away)– and is made up of only a bed with a couple of nightstands and lamps. However, they do provide a butler to deliver guests breakfast in bed.

The double "room", bookable on a seasonal basis, is the brainchild of conceptual artists Frank and Patrik Riklin and hospitality professional Daniel Charbonnier, who hope is will be the first of many across Switzerland that will showcase the country’s landscapes and looks to redefine the minimal hotel experience. The trio previously transformed a former nuclear bunker in the Swiss city of Teufen into a hotel – branding it the "world's first zero-star hotel.

The room costs CHF200 per night, and although it is bookable throughout spring and autumn, reservations can be cancelled at the last minute due to poor weather.
