Its membership draws heavily from the worlds of the arts, publishing, film and finance, making the membership list varied and the company in the club interesting. Omar’s prides itself on its superb service to members and guests, inviting patrons to linger as long as they please.
The club is hidden away in a historic brownstone on a street known in Manhattan as “the gold coast” because of its appeal to the rich and famous of Manhattan in the past. The interior matches the sophisticated area - warm, neutral colours fill the private dining rooms along with ambient lighting and simple yet comfortable furniture, designed to make guests feel as if they are in somebody’s own home.
The dinner menu includes dishes like house made tagliolini served with Tuscan kale pesto and pecorino, and grilled pork chop served with apricot compote, fingerling potato and mustard. As well as a vast wine menu, the dining club also offers a list of cocktails including the Gatsby, made with Zubrowska vodka, canton ginger, citrus, lemongrass and baked apple.
