Amex Centurion Lounges

Airline delays and flight cancellations are an unavoidable part of travel. While it will always be frustrating, waiting at the airport just got a little more luxurious, and, potentially, less annoying.

American Express's Centurion Lounges offer a more comfortable place to work, eat and drink, in seven US airports: La Guardia, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas, San Fransisco, Houston, Miami and Seattle.

The lounges feature private nooks for working, high speed wifi, a media room and a family room, as well as seasonal, locally-sourced, chef-crafted dining, a wine list put together by ‘Wine Wise Guy’ Anthony Giglio and cocktails by James Beard winner Jim Meehan. Staff can also assist with flights, dinner reservations and tickets for events.

At the La Guardia outpost, the menu is designed by Cédric Vongerichten, who has worked at Hong Kong’s Mandarin Oriental and El Bulli in Barcelona, and is now Chef de Cuisine at Perry St. in New York City, while in San Francisco, Daniel Patterson - James Beard award-winning chef and founder of Alta CA - oversees the cuisine. At the Dallas/Ft Worth lounge, complimentary 15-minute spa treatments are on offer.

Entry to the lounge and all food and drink is free to holders of an American Express Platinum Card and Centurion Members, along with two complimentary guests. Other American Express Credit cardholders and Charge Card Members can buy a one-day pass for $50.
