Waterfront Crabhouse Returns!

After the unfortunate death of the original owner, this iconic LIC restaurant shuttered it's doors. Luckily, it appears to be pulling a Phoenix and is back.

When the much-loved Waterfront Crabhouse in Long Island City closed after decades of feeding happy guests, there was an outcry from locals. Luckily, it looks as though it has returned albeit with a little bit of a change.

Taken over by the same people of Skinny's Cantina, the plan is to update it slightly, while still paying homage to the iconic location which first opened its doors in the '70s. Surviving fires, floods, and a greatly changing neighborhood, it only closed after the original owner, Tony Mozzarella, died earlier last year.

Dark, with high ceilings, and plenty of old posters, the plan is to keep much of the look and feel the same, with a couple new menu items.
