With a name like Famer and the Fish, it's a good guess that this Gramercy restaurant takes Farm to Table a little more literally than others. They've got a major thing for tracking where every ingredient comes from, which is so much easier when you as much of it as possible comes straight from their own farm in North Salem.
Sister restaurant to Fish on Bleeker Street, this 150-seat spot manages to balance that line between chic and rustic with chandeliers and exposed brick, white tiles and packed bookcases; it feels like the home decor you wish you can, especially with their gorgeous food on the table. As fresh as can be (literally, it just takes a 2-hour ride to the kitchen from the farm), it's a great opportunity to see what ingredients can really shine when in season.
Drinkables also will be as handmade as possible with components coming from the farm when possible such as honey and herbs, plus they have developed a partnership with Chatham Brewing to create a beer especially for them to run alongside a rotating list of guest beers.
