With the one and only Bill Murray Bartending their opening weekend, there was an instant buzz about the place and thankfully it was all well deserved. From the same peeps at Roebling Tea Room - Sydney Silver and Homer Murray (as in Bill's son) - there are a couple similarities, yes still very much it's own animal. High ceilings, white washed wood frames to divide the space, hanging plants and a skylight, it feels light, homey, and perfectly Greenpoint.
Ex-Extra Fancy chef Sean Telo is the guy behind the food here cooking up dishes like salmon pastrami on rye with salmon roe and steak tartar served on a roasted bone marrow and served with lamb fat bread. It's not all heavy, over the top dishes as Chef Telo has been sure to include lighter options like steamed hake served with corn, scallions, and a hot pepper vinaigrette.
On the drinks side, the menu has been put together with an expert eye, creating a creative menu filled with the unexpected yet delicious. Give the Smokin' Peaches a try with both tequila and mezcal plus peach and a habanero shrub. This is just the tip of the iceberg, so be sure to chat with the bartenders about what other tricks they have up their sleeves.
