Buddha Bar New York

Although they had to sign on to a super strict list of restrictions regarding operating hours and noise levels, the international mega-restaurant and lounge is coming to Tribeca.

Another big name clubstaurant is coming to NYC as the international mega house Buddha Bar has been recently approved to obtain a liquor licence for their new location in TriBeCa after months of back and forth. The Community Board has put in some pretty strict rules and regulations for the British restauranteur, Stefan Stefanov, but if all goes as planned this new space should open in the new year. Housed in the former site of the downtown location of Megu (which has recently reopened in the Dream Hotel), this area is constantly battling the march of gentrification, balancing the old neighbourhood feel with an influx of new residents.

Buddha Bar has restaurants, hotels and spas all over the world and has built up a name for themselves among young and wealthy travellers through a close relationship with big name house DJ's. The restaurants feature Asian fusion, with a high influence from the California and European flavours and techniques. The venues tend to be over the top and cinematic, creating gorgeous backdrops for those looking for a sensory overload.
