Thursday Kitchen

With smallish plates filled with Thai flavours and techniques, this East Village spot is very much a New York restaurant filled with influences of the city and all the cuisines found here.

Thursday Kitchen is a sub-sidewalk space that feels rustic and comfortable with green leather booths, stained metal and wood, which manages to capture sunlight by day and maintain a cool edgy feel at night.

The food is far from traditional, but it's all super tasty with brightly flavours dishes filled with all your favourite things. By taking some classic Thai flavours and injecting a bit of New York soul into them, you end up with quirky dishes like the Kimchi Paella, a Korean seafood pancake and a perfect softshell crab with a wasabi dipping sauce. These are all small plates priced at $12 or less, meaning you can order a whole bunch of them to really taste the full expanse of the menu.

On the drinks side, they've got wine and beer plus soju cocktails which they serve in little sealed plastic bags which instantly will make you think of a Capri-Sun from the summer days of your youth. They are lit via little LED ice cubes, just to further the playfulness.
