In the old Cafe Moto spot is the vaguely bicycle-themed bar and cafe, Bar Velo. Owned by restaurateur John McCormick, who has his hands involved in oyster paradise Marson Premier and brunch spot Five Leaves), this rustic feeling space is decorated with his personal collection of old school bike paraphernalia like jerseys, gear and bike fixtures from yesteryear.
The menu is small and simple, filled with delicious vegetarian places like an epic mac & cheese, portobello mushroom burger and a kale salad. There's a solid cocktail menu as well which highlights some of the slightly more underrated ingredients like Amaro, Mezcal and chartreuse. Soon they will be expanding their offering with a grocery section selling bread, preserves and the like along with cycling gear, because, why not.
This intimate space also features live music on the weekends making it the ultimate date spot.
