Sugarfish

With top shelf quality fish and everyday prices, this Californian transplant is bringing showing you why West Coasters are obsessed with sushi.

Hailing from the city of angles, this West Coast transplant is from chef Kazunori Nozawa who brings together the high-quality ideals of omakase-style sushi with the fast and affordable options on the market. After founding a mini-empire in LA, this is his first NYC location heralding in a new day for raw fish lovers.

While there is an a la carte menu filled with all the classic Japanese (and otherwise) morsels, the real gem here are their awesomely named "Trust Me" menus priced at $27, $39, and $51 with tip included. These 6-10 plate meals are presented item by item, retaining some of the ceremony of the traditional omakase while sushi rolls, sashimi, edamame and more. While they have upped their prices slightly in their Eastward voyage, the food is beyond flawless, especially for the style, service and price point.

The space itself is long and narrow, with artistically paneled wood, gray walls and exposed brick allowing for 43 seats in the dining room and tiny counter.
