Pier A Harbour House

First opened in 1886, Pier A Harbour House served as the headquarters for the New York harbour police, and, later as a VIP entrance for European ambassadors travelling to Ellis Island. Now it serves as a 28,000 square-foot food and beverage destination, between Battery Park and the Hudson River.

The first floor of the venue is a large gathering space with an oyster bar serving freshly shucked oysters, and the Long Hall, a bar serving a large selection of craft beers on tap as well as casual pub grub food. Guests can also find the visitors centre and a coffee bar on the first floor.

In 2015, Pier A will be opening its main restaurant (yet to be named) offering guests contemporary dining experiences. The highlights are set to include an open kitchen, multi-experiential rooms reflecting the different aspects of the pier’s history, an intimate cocktail lounge and a fireplace and island bar.

Pier A promises its guests spectacular views of the Financial District skyline as well as the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and stunning sunsets over the Hudson River.
