Blake Lane

Armed with seasonal ingredients and vibrant flavours, this West Coast-inspired spot is comfortable and easy with effortless charm.

Blake Lane is the joint dream of chef Diego Moya and restauranteur Suzanna Beall, who have brought brightly colored plates of super fresh Californian fare to the Upper East Side. Served with a friendly style in a minimalist atmosphere, the food really shines at this 56-seat spot on Third Ave, creating an oasis of calm in the busy city.

The best part about food from the West Coast is the harmonization of different flavours from across the globe. This patchwork of tastes holds true here with dishes like trout with green curry,  poke with avocado mango and pickled cucumber, and squash soup with kabocha, onion, and Aleppo pepper. All the ingredients are as organic as possible, ethically sourced, and designed to reflect the seasons. Open from morning to night, they feature smaller plates in the day with a few bigger addition for the evening menu.

Warmly lit, with blond wood tables, exposed brick and Edison light bulbs, the perfect combination of old and new to make it feel instantly comfortable.
