Maxwell's Chophouse

While the original Florida institution closed nearly a decade ago, this NYC version ticks all the boxes perfectly.

If you're remembering the celebrated steakhouse in Florida of the same name which closed back in 2007, you're on the right track. This New York revival follows faithfully in the footsteps of original joint with top of the range steak, epic seafood, and an air of old school glamor.

Run once again by the mother/daughter team of Babette Haddad and Melissa Haddad Malaga, this place feels like an exclusive members club from days gone by with high ceilings, mirrors, monochrome themed paint job with gold accents, brown leather banquettes, and chandeliers. The high-quality service only emphasizes that vibe, embracing fine-dining and life filled with the finer things in life.

Naturally, the menu is stunning. Chef Stratos Georgeadakis, formally from Quality Meats, is looking after the kitchen with a menu that spotlights USDA Prime beef is hand selected and presented with cuts ranging from Porterhouse to Prime Rib and many more. Several of the cuts, including the Filet Mignon and Pork Chops, have a really incredible option of being turned into a surf & turf plate with add-ons Lobster Tail, Crab Meat or Garlic Shrimp. Speaking of seafood, there's plenty of options in that area as well, especially to start off the meal with Oysters Rockafeller and Lobster Corn Soup being some of the standouts.

Their wine selection is a thing of beauty with a speciality WineRoom, which includes over special 500 vintages, from Haddad's private family cellar. This "library" collection is an absolute must if you love wine.
