Imagine the coolest looking party beachhouse, filled with comfortable vintage furniture, fire-pits, surfboards, bars inside and out, games like ping-pong and billiards and all lit by candlelight. Hospitality entrepreneur Brent Bolthouse did just that when he opened The Bungalow on the grounds of the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in the summer of 2012. Now imagine a young and very good-looking crowd hanging out, which they have been since day and weekend one.
Most of the seating is outside (tented and heated in wintertime) and the inside bar was recently expanded to accommodate demand. Holidays are big here: New Year’s Eve tickets are now on sale for the black tie event that includes a hosted bar, passed bites and dancing. Weekends, the partying starts at 2 p.m. and every night the lounge is open until 2 a.m.
Sunset drinks, parties, clubbing.
Reserved couch overlooking the deck.
Outside deck.
Bar bites: chips and guacamole, Bungalow Burger, Burrata Flatbread, House-baked cookies
Bitchin' Sangria, Bungalow Margarita, Lychee Gimlet
