Chinese Tuxedo

Set in a gorgeous historical two-level and influenced by the Chinese diaspora, this restaurant is sexy and cool and filled with all the food you want to eat.

Although the name sounds like some kind of exotic cocktail or fighting move, Chinese Tuxedo is actually a bi-level restaurant that is slick, sexy and perfect for making some serious moves. Housed in a former opera house and backdrop to an infamous early 20th-century Chinese gang shootout, there's plenty of character here to keep you discovering new details every time.

Headed up by Eddy Buckingham, who previously could be found at The Liberty, you can expect some serious quality abound. There's a ground floor bar where you can perch and while away the hours, or simply grab a glass before descending into the opulent yet edgy dining room below. There find black vinyl booths, gold accents, large foliage, and a feeling of being transported to the old days. Needless to say, it's striking.

The food keeps up its end of the deal with a menu curated Natalia Scheien and filled with dishes like roasted duck salad, whole crispy squab with spice salt and black vinegar, and house made egg noodles with konbu butter, XO sauce and pork floss.
