Miss Paradis

Feeling like the cross between an art gallery and a restaurant, this SoHo spot wants to feed your body and soul with healthy food and interesting sights.

Miss Paradis is the brainchild of father/daughter team Claude and Julie Louzon who own  Le Paradis du Fruit in Paris. A beautiful blend to feed your body and soul, the entire restaurant was created with the assistance of designer Philippe Starck. The draw to this bi-level, visually stunning, SoHo restaurant is twofold: the food is as important as the art here.

The two-level exterior looks like a white concrete block with silver apples dotted cross the structure and greenery creeping down from the roof, but it's the full-scale windows that really attract attention. Inside, those afore-mentioned windows let in a glorious amount of natural light to bask in sitting at little tables for a few, the huge communal for more, or the bar. Then there's there's upstairs that is all light colours, leather sofas, and brightly coloured cushions. And then the art, which is absolutely everywhere. Just open your eyes.

Of course, the food also happens to be delicious. Your health kick can be alive and well here, and your taste buds will never know it. The menu is pretty seafood heavy, with nutrient rich fish options like a massive salad featuring center cut tuna, plus cucumber noodles, melon, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Also check out their organic salmon papillote with zucchini & spaghetti squash, dill, which is steamed in a paper parcel and then finished with curry yogurt. On the weekends, they also have a powerful brunch menu, which will gear you up to survive anything you've got going.
