Out of the figurative ashes of the Clinton Hill favorite, comes the new Otway. Helmed by the talented women who brought you Tilda All Day, this places is an instant classic.
If elements of Clinton Hill's Otway feel familiar, it's not just you. The restaurant is the latest project from Samantha Safer and chef Claire Welle, who had previously worked in the same space with their hit Tilda All Day. Although that venture ended in a lawsuit with their third partner, they're back and stronger than ever.
This time around they've assembled a new team with Welle leading an all-female kitchen, bringing their hard work and determination - plus a whole lot of love - into every dish. The menu is filled with homestyle cooking that's way more complex than you would probably ever actually do at home. Think about dishes like a Tart filled with squab, mincemeat, and roasted root vegetables, bone in veal with carrots, and salsify with trout roe and yogurt.
