The hottest cuisine about to take over New York is getting a new clubhouse with the upcoming arrival of Nur. Soon to be located over in the Flatiron, this Middle Eastern restaurant is the latest venture from Gadi Peleg, who is better known for taking baked loafs to another level with the chain Breads Bakery.
By partnering up with Meir Adoni, who already has four well-known restaurants in Israel, this new direction is a chance for Peleg to continue to play with new flavours and techniques. Adoni grew up in Morocco and has been a figure in the Israeli dining scene for over a decade. His focus on using traditional ingredients whilst adapting to the new environment has made him a very creative and interesting force in the kitchen. This is his first project in the USA.
Opening on the same block as Gramercy Tavern, the food here will be light and vibrant served in a brasserie-style space that is breezy and welcoming.
