Mikkeller

Danish brewing company, Mikkeller has opened its first LA outpost in Downtown.

The expansive venue is housed in a 100-year-old auto repair shop and features more than 62 taps dedicated to their own brews and other top selections.

Mikkeller was founded as a microbrewery in Copenhagen by physics teacher Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and Kristian Klarup Keller in 2006. Both were avid home brewers, and Mikkeller has continued to honor that tradition by collaborating with a variety of brewers to come up with many interesting and complex beers, which is how Mikkeller has produced hundreds of different beers available at their many tasting rooms around the world. In the United States, they've stuck to California, opening outposts in San Francisco, Oakland and San Diego, with the Downtown LA location the latest one.

In addition to beer, there’s a small selection of wine on tap, as well as a handful of cocktails. Chef Enrique Cuevas is in charge of the kitchen, with house-smoked sausages, sandwiches, and burgers as well as vegetarian options such as salads and flatbreads.

And for those not into beer, the space also features the Kaffebaren cafe, which offers nitro cold brew, green tea and kombucha on tap along with salads and sandwiches.
