Condensed, it might be, but Spa Castle Premier 57 is no less impressive, with a huge jet pool and swim-up bar - complete with submerged bar stools - six different varieties of sauna, a suite made of gold and a rooftop pool.
The centrally-located spa complex, designed to feel like a spa country club in the middle of the city, takes you around the world of wellness, with traditional Japanese bath culture, German-style hydrotherapy baths and a London-influenced customized beauty spa.
Unlike most New York spas, where bathing suits are compulsory, in Premier 57, there are separate men’s and women’s water lounges where clothing is not permitted, in order to keep the water as clean as possible. The hydrotherapy pools vary in temperature from ice-cold to warm – short bursts of drastic temperature changes help tighten the skin and build up the immune system.
In the Bade pools (clothes back on), there are all manner of different jets to help muscle tension and other ailments, and ‘Sauna Valley’ has six different saunas, including a Himalayan salt sauna, a gold sauna and a chromotherapy sauna.
Then there’s the crowning glory – rooftop pools with views over the Gotham skyline.
A full menu of spa treatments, including massage and facials, is also available.
