Mokbar Brooklyn

Ramen, soup and Korean comfort food by the Barclay's Center by Esther Choi, who got her start in the Chelsea Market.

Mokbar Brooklyn is the first brick and mortar location of the delicious Korean ramen stall that you've probably seen (or better yet, eaten at) in Chelsea Market. Known for its selection of warm, brothy noodles, they've built a name that goes beyond the tourists of the Market and into the ranks of the Ramen obsessed.

This 60-seater location, right by the Barclay's Center, has a slightly broader menu which also includes a whole selection of Korean "soul food" called jip bap, which centers around fish, braised short ribs or tofu, plus seasonable vegetables and kimchi, all served with rice. They also have a dessert menu which has some very speciality ice creams, including toasted sesame and 17 grain.

They are still working on getting a liquor license, so at the moment, they're focusing on teas. Expect cocktails made with Korean ingredients including their unique traditional liquor Soju soon.
