Sidepiece

Walk past the balls and into their hidden den of playful food and delicious drinks. It's like the Meatball Shop, only cooler.

Welcome to the new kind of speakeasy. Inside the 7th sibling of The Meatball Shop, over in Hell's Kitchen, is a restaurant inside a restaurant with different hours (Dinner service Weds-Sat), different food and a slightly different vibe.

Whilst the Ball is all white-washed and bright, Sidepiece has a darker motif going on with dark blue tiles, panelling and an actual bar area meant for drinking at. And trust us, these cocktails are worth the trip alone. Mixologist Rene Hidalgo, previously of Gramercy Tavern, did a proper number on these with drinks like the Honey Dip, which is kind of like an Old Fashioned with Old Overholt rye, cinnamon, honey and Angostura bitters.

Food wise, if you want a change from the larger meat orbs in front, there's a plethora of different options, although many of them have the trusted protein globe mixed in. Their Meatball Fondue is pretty incredible with Alpine Swiss cheese melted to perfection and an army of mini chicken meatballs, bread, apples, bacon, broccoli, and chunks of mozzarella cheese (cheese on cheese anyone?) primed for dipping.
