Lake Como's Best Dining Destinations

Set against the foothills of the Alps, the colourful architecture and beautiful, azure lake, create the perfect backdrop for a gourmet supper, or laid-back lunch.

La Colombetta

Located inside the chapel of a 1300s monastery, complete with the original frescoes and ancient bell tower, this restaurant offers delicious and traditional favourites, such as Catalan style lobster and black pappardelle.

La Locanda dell’Isola Comacina

The restaurant, which opened in 1947 and can be found on the only island of Lake Como (Isola Comacina), serves a set menu with a focus on fresh and simple food. After a short tour of the island (approx. one hour), enjoy an ice-cold drink at the Bar La Botte, before heading back to La Locanda, for an exquisite meal with service to match.

Crotto dei Platani

Renowned for the originality of the menu and the impeccable service, Crotto dei Platani, placed in Brienno, offers local fish dishes, directly beside the Lake, where you can choose to sit in a cozy veranda, a lush garden terrace, a beautiful patio, or an exclusive Darsena, all with unparalleled lake views and a sense of total serenity.

Alle Darsene di Loppia

Under the shade of a pergolato, overlooking the Loppia hamlet, and near to the marvelous Villa Melzi in Bellagio, stands Alle Darsene di Loppia. Mediterranean dishes, seasonal ingredients, originality and careful presentation are the highlights of this secluded eatery.

Il Gatto Nero

Offering a stunning panorama of the local scenery and Lake Como, Il Gatto Nero is the ideal spot for a romantic encounter. Located on the road leading to Monte Bisbin, the restaurant is characterized by an elegant, refined atmosphere, combining the best of regional traditional cooking with a contemporary flavor, in a showcase of the Lake’s gastronomic culture.

L'Orangerie & Osteria Dei Sapori at CastaDiva Resort & Spa

Overlooking the magnificent Lake Como, L’Orangerie sources much of its produce from the surrounding area and makes fresh pasta, bread, cakes and desserts, daily. The outdoor terrace offers a spectacular view of the lake and is open between May and September for al fresco dining at its best. The Ravioli Cacio e Pepe is a must try. Alternatively, enjoy a lunch of traditional Italian cuisine in the relaxed ambience of Osteria Dei Sapori. Signature dishes include the Pizza Margherita and Pizzoccheri alla Valtellina.
