Ms. Yoo

A Korean take on a Gastropub by chef Esther Choi, who's also behind American-Koren mash up, mokbar.

Ms. Yoo is named after her grandmother who taught Choi how to cook and offers a menu of classic American dishes with a Korean twist. Spread over two-storeys, the 50-seat restaurant on Allen Street offers a touch of glamor, with an art-deco inspired interior. The menu aims to reinvent classics with a Korean version of a hot dog called ‘Korean Dog on Bun’ featuring a house-made Korean sausage, grilled jalapeño and yoo sauce on a pretzel roll. Cocktails continue in like vein, with the signature ‘I Ms Yoo’ made with bourbon, jujube, sweet vermouth. Choi is slowly but surely spreading her wings, creating a mini empire of Korean-inspired restaurants.
