Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace

Co-founders Liberty Ross and Kevin Wall have brought Flippers to White City more than 40 years after entrepreneur Ian “Flipper” Ross’s LA original was dubbed “Studio 54 on wheels” back in the late ’70s. It closed in 1981, but was brought back to life this summer with a seven month residency at New York’s Rockefeller Center. Now London has a permanent roller disco of its own. Flaunt your moves to DJs and musicians, before refueling at the Hot Dogs and Caviar diner, where dishes include wagyu burgers, and fries decadently scattered with caviar.

Fairgame

An immersive, adult-only competitive socialising concept inspired by classic fairground games and featuring street food kiosks and three bar areas in Canary Wharf. From nostalgia-laced funfair classics like Whack-A-Mole and Skeebal to mini basketball and water gun clown, you’ve 75 minutes to work your way through each game (which you can play twice) for £13 per person. At the front of the venue you’ll find communal tables and a trio of food vendors, featuring stacked beef pucks from Burger & Beyond, Neapolitan-style pizza from Rudy’s, and street-style tacos from Dos Mas. Fairgame’s three bars serve up craft brews, boozy fairground slushies, and fairground-themed cocktails including prosecco-infused candy floss. Sixes

Sixes has taken a successful concept – the great British gastropub – and souped it up with batting nets and BatFast cricket simulators. From the team behind Mac & Wild, Sixes Cricket Club serves up gastro-inspired grub, decent drinks and… you guessed it… cricket. Put your batting skills into action and challenge your friends to a game in the state-of-the-art batting nets, or step into the ultimate immersive experience with VR Cricket. Plus, there’s signature cocktails like the cognac-laced Bread & Butter, and BBQ-style grub like whisky-glazed beef short rib and burnt ends nuggets. Get swinging from just £9.50 per person - at locations across London.

Clays

Clays brings all the fun of clay target shooting out of the country into the heart of London - at locations in Moorgate and Canary Wharf. The virtual indoor clay pigeon bar employs some serious tech to make its virtual experience as accurate and realistic as possible, with enormous 4k resolution screens display and state-of-the art tech so you still have to be accurate with your aim. Each shooting area (called a peg) is available for a 60 or 90 minute session, and accommodates groups of up to 20. You can take shots of a different kind with spirits, cocktails and wines on the drinks list, and there’s food in the shape of loaded breads and small plates like sweetcorn ribs, Cornish whitebait, and chicken sliders to keep you well fuelled for your target practice.

Ballie Ballerson

Set over two floors, this bar/play pen is strictly adults only. The underground club is kitted out with 250k clear balls set upon an LED dancefloor and the upstairs bar is furnished with plasma balls and glow in the dark murals. The cocktails are themed around the planets: Neptune is based on charcoal and liquid nitrogen; the helium rich Saturn is garnished with a floating balloon; and Uranus is undrinkable until you’ve eaten the Miracle Berry pill provided. Tickets can be booked online (for brunch time or the evening) which enable entry into the ball pit as many times as you like within your designated time slot.
