Mifune

This high-end Japanese restaurant combines two concepts under one roof in Midtown.

Spread over two floors, the restaurant comprises both a fine dining restaurant (Mifune) and an eight-seat omakase bar (Sushi Amane).

Upstairs at Mifune, which is named after the famous Japanese actor, chef Hiroki Yoshitake, formerly of the Michelin-starred Sola in Paris, offers a menu of elevated Japanese food. Here U can choose from an eight-course tasting menu ($120) or order from the à la carte menu, where innovative fusion dishes such as broiled gindara miso cod with parmesan foam will delight U.

Downstairs at Sushi Amane chef Shino Uino, formerly of the acclaimed three-Michelin-starred Sushi Saito in Tokyo, heads up the intimate omakase bar, where a $250 tasting menu includes some of the finest, contemporary and authentic sushi you will find in NYC.

These restaurants aren’t Ur typical sushi joints for everyday dining. But come here for a special occasion and U will be blown away.
