Cigars, access to VIP poker card games, live music (Thursday-Sunday nights) plus dining and excellent cocktails are just some of the enticements for day pass members ($50/£33) at Santa Monica’s 41 Ocean Club. The cozy fireplaces, lounge furniture and comfortable vintage style are conducive to a festive atmosphere and encourage relaxed socializing.
Founded by entrepreneur Jeremy Umland of Ozumo Restaurant Ventures, the setting comes with delightful ocean and sunset views. Chef Jimmy Martinez is a BOA restaurant veteran, so the menu angles towards comfort food (steak frites) with a Latin twist. The mixology program is top notch and the setting, close to the Pacific, is what brings people west. Day passes are available for a limited time; annual memberships are available too.
