Hudson Jane

This all-day café, restaurant and wine bar in Fort Greene offers a unique take on American comfort food.

Hudson Jane comes from from partners Chef Megan Johnson (ex-Gramercy Tavern, Gottino & Casellula) and Jen LaPorta. The couple met nine years ago and the restaurant’s name commemorated the place where the relationship started – a park bench at the corner of Hudson and Jane. Ain't that sweet?!

The menus feature Megan’s take on American comfort food for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. Sandwiches take center stage at lunch and U can't miss the Patty’s Melt with Swiss cheese, grass-fed beef patty, bacon, tomato, dijon and mayo on chive pain au lait. At dinner try the Mima’s Swingin’ Sirloin, which nods to Jen’s Cuban grandmother with braised oxtail, green olives, red pepper.

Consulting Sommelier Sarah Sutel Looper will curate Hudson Jane’s all-natural winelist featuring wines from Europe and the U.S., with a selection of sherry thrown in for good measure.

The interior is inspired by Shaker design aesthetics and utility, creating a functional space that serves as a simple backdrop for the vibrant food. Decked out with solid white oak tabletops and floors and a Carrera marble bar top accented by antiques, such as a tabletop made from a preserved bowling alley floor, 100-year-old ladder back chairs, vintage bread slicer, butcher paper roll, pie stands and more.

There’s also a grab-and-go retail section that sells housemade provisions and local goods.
