Iconic photos of the Rolling Stones are featured in the inaugural exhibition at Taschen’s mid-city gallery.
Eye-catching bold pink letters and the perennially popular Rolling Stones enliven Beverly Boulevard now that Taschen has launched their art gallery/bookstore. Now through February 28th (the show was extended due to demand), It’s Just a Shot Away: The Rolling Stones in Photographs features photos of the legendary British rockers, from famed photographers like Peter Beard, Anton Corbijn and David Bailey, in the large light-filled space, formerly a furniture store.
The exhibition showcases the authorized pictorial 50-year history of the band published by Taschen. Limited editions are available, although the $20,000 (£13,205) monograph (featuring archival prints and the bandmembers’ signatures) has sold out. Expect a closing night party and future exhibitions at the space devoted to finely executed art books from Taschen.
