How do you start your day?
The best way to start my day is always with a coffee and an onion bagel with Normandy butter and prosciutto.
Leisurely lunch go to?
I almost never eat lunch because I am always in the kitchen, but when I’m meeting friends, you can find me at Spring Restaurant in Downtown. I normally get what’s on special for that day because they are always serving something fantastic and seasonal.
Favorite way to pass the time in L.A.?
I don’t have much free time these days. When I’m not working I love to explore Downtown or Pasadena. There’s always something to do there!
Favorite L.A. landmark, and why?
City Hall. It’s beautiful art deco building from the 1920’s. My wife was the Vice President of the Central Area Planning Commission, so I have spent a lot of time there and I really fell in love with the building there.
Tipple of choice and favorite cocktail hangout?
I don’t drink alcohol, so my tipple of choice would be True Roots ginger beer with a little cranberry juice and a splash of bitters.
Favorite dining destinations, and why?
Barbara Jean on Melrose. I used to work with Chef Jason Fullilove at Campanile, and the food is great! The restaurant is casual, welcoming, delicious, as well as romantic. The patio is just beautiful!
Final stop for a nightcap, and why?
Rascal’s on La Brea. It’s in my neighborhood and the owner, Sandy, makes the dirtiest martini exactly how my wife likes it.
Where next on your travels?
I don’t have any plans on the works, but my next trip will likely be to New York to visit my son.
