After 15 years on the Lower East Side, Il Laboratorio del Gelato has added a Greenwich Village branch serving up a rotating selection of 48 flavors of ice cream and sorbet.

Aesthetically similar to the flagship location on Ludlow Street, Lab U (located on the NYU campus) features large windows and white subway tiles with a neon blue logo lighting up the inside. There are 12 seats, comprising a mix of counter and bench-style window seating.

The new shop serves ice cream cakes, cookie sandwiches, and lots and lots of ice cream flavors including vegan options. Try the holiday ice cream layer cake with chocolate-Kahlúa and eggnog gelatos, crushed amaretto cookies and a frosting of crunchy pink peppermint-stick gelato. There are new winter classics such as Chestnut, Eggnog, Peppermint Stick, Blood Orange, and Tangerine will join the fall flavors like Fig, Pear, Cinnamon, Apple, Butternut Squash, and several varieties of Apple sorbet.
