The French restaurant (previously known as Bagatelle) in the heart of the Meatpacking District, became famed for its brunches, which began as a civilised lunchtime affair, and by 4pm, had become a thumping, pumping club, complete with free-flowing champagne and dancing on tables. A well-heeled young crowd weekly forgot to worry about the next day.
Its East Hamptons outpost was similarly reliable for a scantily-clad, summertime Euro-esque rager.
And now, after a two-year closure, Beaumarchais and it's brunches are back.
As before, the intended vibe is ‘French Riviera’, with live DJs helping get the party started, along with Bloody Marys and Mimosas. French-style brunch fare is also served, including oysters, omelettes, salmon tartare, lamb burgers and truffle fries, though no one at brunching at Beaumarchais is really there to focus on the food.
