How do you start your day?
By a 30 min jog and green tea every morning.
Leisurely lunch go to?
Restaurant Loulou, in the Louvre garden. It’s very stylish, so Parisian, and with a wonderful view.
Favourite way to pass the time in Paris?
I love to roam Paris on my electric bicycle and take a drop of LOUIS XIII aboard my friend Joseph Anticevic’s classic yacht on the Seine river. I also occasionally explore some of my favorite watchmakers of Place Vendome, such as Patek Philippe, and visit the shoemaker Corthay, who has a tremendous shoe cellar which houses all of the shoe shapers of each one of its clients, on Volnay Street in Paris.
Favourite Paris landmarks, and why?
I love Parisian rooftops. My favourites include the roof of the Opera Garnier and of the Monnaie de Paris. I also enjoy spending time at the Hemingway Bar of the Ritz, Place Vendôme.
Cocktail of choice and favourite cocktail hangouts?
Generally speaking, I prefer to enjoy a drop of Louis XIII during cocktail hour, just before dinner. I also appreciate red wine, such as Smith Haut Laffitte or Chateau Margaux.
Favourite dining destinations?
Akrame Paris, Alléno Paris au Pavillon Ledoyen, Le Bernardin by Eric Ripert in NYC.
Final stop for a nightcap, and why?
The Hotel de Crillon fumoir, which is similar to a trendy speakeasy.
Rest hangover remedy?
I have the same ritual every morning no matter how long my night was: 30 minutes of running and a green tea.
Where next on your travels?
In the next two months I will visit London, where we opened our second worldwide boutique at Harrods, followed by Dubai, South Africa and NYC to showcase our LOUIS XIII ‘100 Years Season 2’ campaign: a song by Pharrell Williams to be released in 2117, only #Ifwecare
Ludovic du Plessis is the global executive direcor of Louis XIII, one of the world’s most illustrious cognacs.
