Expectations are high for the opening of Louis Vuitton’s new flagship store on Rodeo Drive. The three-storey all white corner edifice (with rooftop lounge for VIP customers) will be a new landmark on the luxury retailer-lined shopping street. In anticipation of the Rodeo Drive store opening and to coincide with Academy Awards-related festivities, Louis Vuitton is hosting an international look at its Series 2 women’s ready-to-wear collection, along with iconic pieces from the luxury retailer’s past.
Art and commerce will blend in the novel visual presentation. SERIES 2 EXHIBITION: “Past, Present and Future” will debut in Los Angeles on Friday Feb. 6 and run through Feb. 22—the idea is to contextualize designer Nicolas Ghesquiere’s work and inspiration. Enter under a neon-lit logo and then proceed to view hologram projections of iconic pieces with another room providing a 360-degree view of all pieces. The pop-up exhibition will occupy a sprawling, gallery-like space in Hollywood’s media district and is open daily 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Additional stops for the tour: Dubai, Beijing and Rome.
