London’s Sexiest Restaurants

Business empress and Urbanologist Claudia Lambeth, founder of Luna Mae bespoke lingerie, reveals her sexiest London hotspots...

Hunan

An explosion of flavour at this traditional Chinese restaurant in the heart of Belgravia. The fate of your dining experience is truly left in the hands of the owners, but if you love food you will not be disappointed. Signature dishes include double-cooked red pork which is neatly brought to the table in a bag. Why? With no menu, you can spend more time staring at your loved one across the table and get stuck into the surprise dishes which are brought out just for you.

Copita

Tasty and well-priced, the bustling atmosphere makes for a perfect date option for couples still basking in the glow of “oh-we-just-met”. Because of the intimate setting, be prepared to sit very close to your partner and enjoy the little sharing plates which are designed with lovers in mind. Why? What’s not to love about duck-egg yolk with piquillo and white truffle? Two bites, and it’s gone.

Kitty Fishers

One that certainly wins on atmosphere points, this popular Mayfair spot is tastefully understated but still guaranteed to impress. Favourites include the chicken liver parfait with candied pecan, peach and Earl Grey and the steaks are definitely something to write home about. Why? Because “Hanky Panky” is on the menu tonight.

Scott’s

If you’re a seafood lover, an evening at Scott’s is certainly one you will not regret. First opened in 1851, this historic gem is a fantastic restaurant to have up your sleeve for a special date (if you can secure a table, that is). Start with some Dungarvan oysters and let the impressively knowledgeable waiting staff take care of the rest. Why? Even if you don’t go for the exceptional food, the atmosphere is definitely one to soak up. It’s also a great people watching spot if your date happens to take a downward turn.

Padella

Bursting onto the Borough Market scene, this delicious pasta joint is a brilliantly casual but remarkable eatery. The knobbly worm-like shape of the homemade pasta in the Cacia e Pape dish is something that everyone must experience. Definitely room for a Lady and the Tramp dining moment here. Just make sure you leave enough room for dessert. Why? Because this might just be the most delicious pasta I have ever tasted.

69 Colebrook Row

Tucked away in a little hidden corner of Islington, this intimate speak-easy style cocktail bar is the perfect after dinner date spot. Because of its size, it can be tricky to get a table, but oh-so-worth-it when you can. Without the traditional “crowd pleasers” of a bar that is trying hard to capture your attention, the simplicity of this one speaks for itself and allows you to take the lead. Why? Experience the beautifully delicious seasonal cocktails – definitely try the Santeria which is smoked with Voodoo incense.

The Vault

Enter through an unassuming bookcase at the back of a whiskey shop on Greek Street, this secret gem makes for an excellent night-cap. With a focus on more experiential and serious cocktails, the little hideaway allows for the perfect escape and transports you to New York’s bustling Lower East Side – a perfect Soho refuge. Why? Plenty of dark corners here. Enough said.
