Zauo

At this Japanese restaurant U can catch Ur own fish for dinner.

Zauo is a Japanese-based Fishing Restaurant chain owned by Noriki Takahashi and his sons Kazuhisa and Takuya, which first opened in 1993 and now has more than 20 locations in Japan.

A massively popular concept in Japan, founding company Harbor House wanted to bring something unique and fun to the NYC's dining scene. Just like the restaurants in Japan, Zauo New York features boats floating across the ceiling and large indoor tanks for fishing. If U have no idea how to catch a fish, don't worry, there are fish assistants on hand to help U. Then, the fish is taken to the kitchen and prepared how U want it: sashimi, grilled, simmered in soy sauce, or tempura.

The fish on offer will vary according to the seasons, ranging from rainbow trout and salmon trout to rockfish and lobsters. Fish vary both in size and price, and U can't send back what U've caught. Other menu items include small plates such as karaage fried chicken, dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelette) and salad with sashimi and seaweed dressing.

Catching Ur own fish for dinner might not be everyone's idea of a great night out. But regardless of Ur dining preference, Zauo certainly offers a unique seafood experience.
