Faena Theater Music

Bossa Nova celebrates 60-year anniversary on the beach.

On October 24 at 9 pm, one of the founders and composers of Brazil's beloved Bossa Nova music, Marcos Valle will light up the stage alongside the "Bossa Nova All-Stars," including iconic musicians Jesse Sadoc, Renato Massa and Patricia Valle. U will be able to enjoy international hits like "Summer Samba (So Nice)", "Batucada" and "If You Went Away" inside the beautiful Faena Theater.

Bossa Nova was born on the beaches of Rio De Janeiro in the late 1950s, where a group of students, artists and musicians blended a soft samba based on traditional Brazilian rhythms with American jazz and a new style of Portuguese lyrics. After a historic concert at Carnegie Hall in 1962, Bossa Nova caught the attention of American contemporaries such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett. The sophisticated fusion went on to influence entire generations of performers including Herbie Mann, Paul McCartney and Sting.

Tickets start at $45.
