At the heart of London's Mayfair Claridge’s - one of London's best known luxury hotels - has been granted permission to build Britain’s biggest mega-basement with the addition of five basement floors below the Art Deco wing. The vast excavation will create just under 20,000sq ft of new floorspace to house a swimming pool, spa, sauna, wine cellar, bakery and in-house chocolatier in five storeys beneath the renowned venue.
