Concierge Desk: St. Moritz

Badrutt’s Palace’s Head Concierge, Giuseppe Pesenti, shares with his favourite dining destinations in St. Moritz - one of the most famous resorts in the world.

Restaurant Talvo

It is no wonder that Restaurant Talvo is considered the best gourmet restaurant in the Upper Engadine, it holds a Michelin star and it is run by renowned chef Martin Dalsass. Sitauted in a striking seventeenth century Swiss chalet in the hamlet of Champfer, the restaurant has a refreshingly relaxed atmosphere, provided by the warm and cosy, wood-pannelled interiors. The fine setting of Restaurant Talvo matches the fine food produced by Martin Dalsass. His light, Mediterranean inspired cuisine uses exclusively top-quality products and bursts with taste, vibrancy and aroma. Restaurant Talvo is currently closed, but it will re-open for the winter season on 7th December 2018.

Chesa Veglia

Located in Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, Chesa Veglia offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience in an equally outstanding setting. Chesa Veglia is Romansh for ‘old house’, but it much more than that. A historic farmhouse in the heart of St. Moritz, this beautiful building is as rich in atmosphere as it is in history. In 1936, Chesa Veglia was transformed into an avant-garde meeting place for gourmets and famous names. To this day, it remains popular with the trendy, young jet-set crowd thanks to its unqiue ambience and excellent food. The restaurant boasts three different restaurants and two bars. Guests can choose from traditional Swiss food using local ingredients at Patrizier Stuben, to grilled specialties at Grill Chadafo, or can opt for a fresh wood-fired pizza at Pizzeria Heuboden.

Stuva Colani

This elegant, authentic restaurant is situated in one of the most beautiful and preserved historic buildings throughout Engadine, Hotel Chesa Colani, in the peaceful Madulin. It is run by Paolo Casanova, who trained with renowned chefs such as Michelin star Massimo Bottura. The cooking philosophy is based on balance, elegance and essence, but welcomes contrast and diversity. As a result, the food created is a wonderful combination of authentic, seasonal and locally-sourced food, with modern flourshes to create an innovative dining experience complemented by fine wines. Stuva Colani closes at lunchtime on Monday and Tuesday in low season, but is otherwise open for lunch and dinner daily throughout the year.

IGNIV

IGNIV is the recently opened restaurant in Badrutt’s Palace that was awarded a Michelin star just nine months after opening. IGNIV, meaning ‘nest’ in Rhaeto-Romance, Switzerland’s fourth official language, is the second fine-dining sharing experience by award wining chef Andreas Caminada. It is based on a new ‘sharing dish’ concept where guests put together their own menu. The restaurant has flourished under the watchful eye of Chef Marcel Skibbal, who produces fresh and perfectly executed dishes. IGNIV takes residence in the iconic hotel’s Le Relais restaurant and combines the art of fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere and ambience. It is open from 06:30-11:30pm during the winter season.

Che Cha

Located in Chesa Chantarella, luxury apartments with ski-to-door access, guests can take a respite from the snow and visit Che Cha directly from the slopes. Choose to dine next to the open fire in the cosy restaurant, or take in the breath-taking views from the conservatory room, or even sit on the terrace and observe the spectacular sunset or sunrise – the options at Che Ca endless. It is run by chef Reto Mathis, well known for his creations in St Moritz for more than 35 years. High level cuisine with truffles and caviar, lobsters and all other gourmet offerings will evoke all of your gustatory sensations. Che Cha has been in the Michelin guide from 2017.

Long hailed as a hotel landmark, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is the ultimate expression of the Swiss Alps region, overlooking the centre of ultra-glamorous St Moritz. A favourite of celebrities and royalty alike since its opening in 1896, it is a celebration of style, sports, cuisine and fashion, with discreet service and traditional elegance evoking an atmosphere of pampered luxury for all.
