London's Best Vinyl Bars

It's time to face the music and revive your love for vinyl as we track down London's best vinyl bars.

Fam Bar

Legendary London bartender Dre Masso is behind the vinyl-filled Fam bar and kitchen in Mayfair (replacing Bar Termini Centrale), alongside mixologist and Tequila ambassador Megs Miller. Fam’s ethos is to celebrate “the people in life who are closest - best friends and chosen family” via eclectic cocktails, seasonal food and contemporary design. The 50-cover site pays homage to London’s bartending community and includes portraits of some of the capital’s most prominent bartenders past and present. A wall filled with vinyl records chosen by Masso and Miller’s friends and family, including Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall and The Beatles’ Abbey Road, allows guests to request a song or album. Aside from the cocktail - the bar snack offering is inspired by nostalgic family recipes, and includes the likes of ham & cheese toasties with tomato compote and English Cheddar spread with sourdough chips. Spiritland

Spiritland is a music-led café, bar and radio studio in King’s Cross - next to the Coal Drop Yard complex behind King’s Cross Station. This classy hangout is touted as the world's first music-led concept built around the best sound system in the world – a one-off, exceptional creation playing original, in-depth musical programming day and night. Inspired by Japanese sound spaces and designed to feel like you're in downtown New York, this immersive vinyl listening space is a paradise for any lover of music, from the aficionado to the curious. Order a 'Starfish and Coffee' made with Black Cow vodka, Black Magic spiced rum, salted caramel, pecan, chocolate and espresso and sit back and enjoy the tunes.

The Napoleon

The founders behind the Worship Street Whistling Shop - have opened the world’s smallest boutique hotel - housing just one single luxury suite but three showstopping bars. Head to the Devil's Darling, their first floor cocktail bar, which serves as the main hotel bar (besides the other two bars), and specialises in classic cocktails (from a Martini to an Old Fashioned) with the daily menu featuring just three drinks. Of course you can order whatever you like, but be sure to pick a drink that pairs well with vinyl records, low lighting, and a sense of nostaligia.

Behind This Wall

A minimalist basement bar with a love for all things vinyl. This almost hidden basement bar on Mare Street - just a short walk from Hackney Central or Hackney Downs, it's signposted by a BAR lightbox at the top of a narrow entrance, just follow the strip-light downstairs. To make sure the sounds are on point, the space has been kitted out with the old Tannoy Gold sound-system of the late Joy Division producer Martin Hannett. This Hackney hotpsot creates much of its own produce, with the aim of leaving out artificial colours and flavours, high-fructose corn syrup and unnecessary sugars. Because of this, the cocktail menu is seasonal, but you can expect classics such as Negronis, Sidecars and Bellinis, as well as a full wine, beer and spirits menu.
