Empellón Al Pastor

The East Village’s casual Mexican spot has landed at Midtown’s POD 39 hotel, offering a more upmarket experience with a new menu and rooftop bar.

Taking over the space that previously housed Salvation Taco, the 6,000 square foot space has a private dining room, lounge and game room.

The menu is distinctly different to the original and includes salads, a sweet potato taco, and bar snacks like deviled eggs and pickles as well as Chihuahua cheese sticks with tomato sauce, and broiled oysters with hoja santa and bacon.

Beverage director Noah Small oversees the cocktail list, with new creations such as the Mutineer made with Charanda Uruapan Rum with cinnamon and pink grapefruit; or the Yoga Mat with Pueblo Viejo Blanco and coconut water.

If U’re looking for a new brunch spot, a place to hang with friends or a fun spot for a celebration, Empellón Al Pastor is for U.
